My journey started at the intersection of language and code. After earning degrees in computational linguistics, computer science, and general linguistics in Bonn and Edinburgh back in 2003, I spent the next two decades in the enterprise software trenches, relocating from Germany to the US in 2010.
Over the years, I transitioned from engineering and consulting into technical product marketing, carving out a niche in conversational AI and the contact center world through keynotes, industry panels, and thought leadership. A highlight along the way: picking up a CogX Award for “Best Consumer Chatbot” after building an AI wine sommelier for Lidl in the UK.
Following a five-year run in the IoT space, I took the entrepreneurial leap in 2025 to go fully independent. For years, I’ve been fascinated by the future of mobility, diving headfirst into the engineering and policy behind self-driving vehicles. That passion sparked TeslaTobi, my German YouTube channel focused on deep-dive breakdowns of autonomous tech, robotics, and AI - primarily tracking Tesla and its fiercest rivals.
Now, with TechTalkTobi, I’m going global. It’s an English-first platform where I’m casting a wider net; unpacking the real tech and impact behind artificial intelligence, automation, and the innovations reshaping our world, but in a language that reaches everyone, not just the nerds.
